ABOUT ME
Hi there! I'm Sandra, a Masters student at Cornell University studying Mechanical Engineering with a concentration in Business & Management. I got my Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from MIT along with a minor in design.
I have a passion for product design and development, manufacturing, and a deep-found appreciation for all things with a good blend of form and function. I've happily spent hours upon hours in machine shops bringing projects to life and I love sharing my knowledge and passion for making with others. I enjoy the beauty of collaborative work and learning from engineers with different backgrounds and perspectives.
In my free time, you can find me sprawled on a couch reading a good book, hiking with my family, or taking an obscene amount of pictures of my family dog.
This website shows a snapshot of some of the projects that I have worked on, both in and out of the classroom. I hope you enjoy!
Fun Facts:
-
I was born and raised on Long Island, New York (that's lawn-guy-land to my fellow locals)
-
I was a competitive swimmer (now a "swammer") and played on a travel soccer team for 10 years
-
Jaden Smith (yes, THE Jaden Smith) once sat right behind me during one of my chemistry lectures and I have never been the same since
In addition to building things, I also like to build relationships.
